ACE carry out monthly litter-picks, they take place on a Saturday morning between 9.30am – 11.00am, targeting various sections of the village. ACE provide Hi-Viz jackets, gloves, litter-grabbers and bags. You can join for as little or as long as you are able. This is an easy way to keep our village looking good.
Durham County Council are proposing to reduce the number of street lights. The consultation is open to comments until 11 July 2016. (This deadline has now been extended to 9th August 2016).

One casual vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for the Parish of Castle Eden. The Council will fill this vacancy by co-option and request that interested parties apply in writing to the Parish Clerk .
The Council supports Action Castle Eden (ACE)which is a group of community volunteers who aim to improve community spirit and enhance the environment in the village, find out more about what events and activities are forthcoming or how to get involved.
